About UsArtWorks of Hillsdale is a non-profit group which was started in the early 1990s as a community arts and cultural organization to enhance the quality of life and contribute to the economic vitality of Hillsdale County and surrounding areas. Specifically, its goals were to encourage and support the arts—broadly defined—within the county.
n the last several years, ArtWorks has sponsored an annual juried music competition for young artists, juried art shows at various venues, and art and craft shows. Gallery 49 (now in Jonesville), the Lost Nations Photo Club, and Hillsdale County School of the Arts (HCSA) were sponsored by ArtWorks. For the past several years ArtWorks has also given an Artist of the Year award to local artists who have contributed to the arts in the community. |
