ArtWorks of Hillsdale, Inc., was formed to unite and support the arts in Hillsdale County, Michigan. The Council supports many art projects throughout the county and provides venues to demonstrate and showcase Hillsdale County artists and musicians and numerous artistic endeavors.
ArtWorks of Hillsdale is a non-profit group which was started in the early 1990s as a community arts and cultural organization to enhance the quality of life and contribute to the economic vitality of Hillsdale County and surrounding areas. Specifically, its goals were to encourage and support the arts—broadly defined—within the county. In the last several years, ArtWorks has sponsored an annual juried music competition for young artists, juried art shows at various venues, and art and craft shows. Gallery 49 (now defunct), the Lost Nations Photo Club, and Hillsdale County School of the Arts (HCSA) were sponsored by ArtWorks. For the past several years ArtWorks has also given an Artist of the Year award to local artists who have contributed to the arts in the community.

Studio 42 Renovations

We are so thankful to the Hillsdale County Community Foundation (HCCF) for granting us funds to renovate Studio42 where we conduct our Life Drawing sessions every Monday evening. The studio got repainted bright white, shelves were put up and painted, picture hanging cable system was installed, picture light's were installed and new over head lights were put in. The infamous "BIG" hutch was painted, picture hanging cable system was installed and light fixtures were added to it, art can now be hung and highlighted in the hutch. A new sign was purchased to reflect what Studio42 is now, a fine arts studio. To complete what was needed; used chairs, small end tables, 2-6' tables, model lights, model platform(locally built) were purchased. Again ..a mighty "Big" thank-you to HCCF, you are helping to keep the ARTS alive in Hillsdale
